It’s spooky season and cast members at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort are carving out some thrills and chills for all who come to see.

Boardwalk Pumpkins
Over in the lobby of the Boardwalk, you can feast your eyes on this year’s 10 pumpkins in the running for the most creative, most Halloweeny, and the most Disney creations by the cast members of the hotel.

I’m not going to lie, the competition this year looks pretty stiff, but we’ll let you be the judge.

Pumpkin #1 – Jack Skellington

Boardwalk Pumpkins

Everybody hail to the Pumpkin King! Of course, it wouldn’t be a REAL pumpkin decorating contest if someone didn’t pay tribute to the King of the Pumpkin Patch himself, Jack Skellington.

Pumpkin #2 – Pirates of the Caribbean

Boardwalk Pumpkins

Yo, Ho! Yo, Ho! A pumpkin’s life for me! I can practically hear that one pirate whistling, this one is so good. Who doesn’t love a good nod to the classic that is Pirates of the Caribbean?

Pumpkin #3 – Haunted Mansion

Boardwalk Pumpkins

Can you hear the hinges creak in the doorless chambers? How about the strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls? The attention to detail here is amazing. And that floating candelabra? 10/10

Pumpkin #4 – Hocus Pocus

Boardwalk Pumpkins

I smell a child… I mean, a pumpkin. I challenge you to find me someone who doesn’t love Hocus Pocus. These three witches are the epitome of the Halloween season, and they are captured beautifully in this pumpkin.

Pumpkin #5 – Haunted Mansion

“Wizards and witches, wherever you mope, give us a win, and text in your vote…” says Madame Leota. (And yes, that is a direct quote.)

Pumpkin #6 – BB-8

Boardwalk Pumpkins

With the brand new Galaxy’s Edge land and The Rise of Skywalker film coming out, it was only right someone decorated a pumpkin to look like everyone’s favorite BB- unit.

Pumpkin #7 – Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Boardwalk Pumpkins

Now this is just a classic with a little bit of nostalgia thrown in. Plus, there was a flickering light at the bottom to make the Headless Horseman extra spooky. Great craftsmanship!

Pumpkin #8 – Disney Villains

Boardwalk Pumpkins

This is one edgy pumpkin if I ever saw one, and the artwork is amazing. Whoever painted this is a true artist and really captures Hades and the Evil Queen in her “Hag” appearance to a T.

Pumpkin #9 – Disney Skyliner

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, that is the Disney Skyliner system… made out of pumpkins. This Cast Member was not kidding around. I especially love the details of Mickey and Minnie, and Donald and Daisy boarding on either side. Let’s just hope they don’t crash…

Pumpkin #10 – Haunted Mansion

Boardwalk Pumpkins

Did you know that this pumpkin has 999 ghosts? But have no fear, there’s room for 1,000. The attention to detail on this display is impeccable, from the Haunted Mansion sign on the pillars to the names on the tombstones.

Boardwalk Pumpkins

Ten spooky pumpkins stand before me, but only three can be winners. Make sure to text your favorite before midnight on 10/28 to make sure your favorite pumpkin gets the recognition it deserves.

Remember, you can vote for up to 3 different pumpkins in 3 separate categories. Just remember to text: Most Creative & the Pumpkin #; Most Halloween & the Pumpkin #; and Most Disney & the Pumpkin #; to 407-680-3485.

Happy voting and have a spooky day! And don’t forget your death certificate… I mean, don’t forget to watch the full tour below! [Cackling]

  1. This is a great article, but I wish every pumpkin art showcased here had been given the same photo treatment as you gave the skyliner display (Pumpkin #9, with 3 pics). The painted pumpkins, for example, had really detailed art all around them, but unfortunately we can’t see that here, because only the front is pictured. I saw them in person and they are all really unique.
