Halloween is right around the corner! In honor of the haunted holiday, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House has a spooky selection of pumpkins to view in the lobby. Resort Cast Members designed and decorated these pumpkin creations. The contest winners are decided by guests’ votes. Categories include spookiest, most creative, cutest, best overall, and best Disney theme. So let’s get to the pumpkins!
Pumpkin #1 – Madame Leota
Madame Leota has escaped Magic Kingdom and materialized at Animal Kingdom Lodge. She’s ready to summon all of the ghost and ghoulies from last Halloween!
Pumpkin #2 – Maleficent
This wicked pumpkin portrays everyone’s favorite Mistress of Evil in detail right down to her iconic horns. Just as in Sleeping Beauty, in this contest, she’s trying to prove that she can’t be defeated.
Pumpkin #3 – Mad Tea Party
Take a turn on a spinning teacup, but try not to get dizzy! This pumpkin inspired by the beloved Magic Kingdom attraction even features the Mad Hatter’s hat and the Cheshire Cat’s tail.
Pumpkin #4 – Ursula with Flotsam and Jetsam
Our favorite sea witch is preparing her latest spell accompanied by her sidekick eels, Flotsam and Jetsam. When judging the competition, in Ursula’s own words… “Don’t underestimate the importance of body language.”
Pumpkin #5 – “Make It Pink!”
Just like in Sleeping Beauty, it seems Flora and Merryweather were once again arguing about whether they should make it pink or make it blue! This pumpkin is a bit of both.
Pumpkin #6 – BB-8
From a galaxy far, far away… BB-8 has arrived just in time for Halloween. Everyone’s favorite droid is ready to roll away with the competition.
Pumpkin #7 – Little Mermaid
This pretty Ariel-inspired pumpkin has “gadgets and gizmos aplenty.” Is it enough to win cutest pumpkin?
Pumpkin #8 – Mickey Through the Years
This pumpkin stars the mouse who started it all! This hand-painted design features Mickey in his most iconic iterations.
