New Frozen 2 themed treats have been making their way across Walt Disney World, and today a new dessert has drifted into the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort. The Pumpkin Spiced Donut Tart stands out in the bakery case, so we had to try it out.

This is almost like two snacks in one. The base of this dessert is a beautiful pastry with pumpkin filling, but you won’t notice it at first, because there’s an amazing iced donut sitting on top of the tart. Each donut had a perfectly dripped layer of sweet icing topped with white chocolate leaves. A beautiful white chocolate edible image of Anna and Elsa tops the entire thing. For $4.99, this is a great deal of a snack.

When we removed the white chocolate image, we notice it was held on by a few spots of buttercream, too. We could see through the donut into the pumpkin filling, and knew this was going to be intense.

The donut is fluffy with just the right amount of cinnamon spice to it. The icing is incredible. It’s so good, I’d probably buy this again and throw away the tart just to eat the donut and icing. That doesn’t mean the tart is bad, but it does have an extremely strong taste, similar to pumpkin pie (and I prefer my pumpkin pie drowning in whipped cream.) If you don’t like pumpkin pie, you won’t like the tart on the bottom. For those that do like pumpkin pie, this is a really awesome treat you need to try.

Combined together, they work really well, but the donut still wins if it comes down to it. The pumpkin flavor is strong, making this one of the most “Fall” tasting desserts we’ve come across so far. If you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom, or any of the resorts around the area, we suggest a trip to the Contempo Cafe for this perfect pairing of pumpkin tart and donut.
