There are a few resorts are Walt Disney World that really get into the holiday spirit by constructing massive gingerbread displays in their lobbies. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are just a few that we’ve come to love over the years. While visiting Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, we were surprised to find out that a new display was in the works just in time for the holidays.

The display has come a long way since we first stopped by to see it. The roof, doors, and windows have received more detailing. Cast Members are working together to apply a gingerbread window frame on one side. Using an egg wash, they adhere the gingerbread pieces to the frame first.

After the pieces have been attached, they’re brushed with another liquid to seal and protect the gingerbread and give them a nice shine. It really does look like a log cabin!

The grand opening for the new display will take place on Wednesday, November 13th at 1:00 PM, so be sure to keep following for an update on the completed display! Will you be heading over to Wilderness Lodge to check out the new gingerbread cabin this season?
