It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The smell of gingerbread has once again filled the halls of Disney’s Contemporary Resort with the return of the 10th annual Cinderella Castle Gingerbread Display, complete with a Gingerbread Treat Kiosk and a sweet handful of new commemorative merchandise in celebration of the display’s sweet return. Let’s take a tour through the icing-topped candy kingdom.

Cinderella Castle Gingerbread Display 2019

The display features the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, and her Prince Charming in front of Cinderella Castle, with Mary Blair-style accents from “it’s a small world” filling in the background.

See all of that snow on the bottom? The gingerbread display contains 657 pounds of sugar “snow” to give it that extra Christmas-y touch.

Signage by the Gingerbread Display lists a number of fun facts. For example, it took the Contemporary Bakery 39 Cast Members and 10 days to assemble the display, which features over 5,000 decorative gingerbread shingles and Mickey peppermint swirls. There are also 10 hidden symbols from the movie Frozen and from “it’s a small world”, as well as 9 hidden Mickeys.

There’s even a gingerbread pedestal holding a pillow with Cinderella’s glass slipper.

The resort’s Pastry Chef Jeff Barnes will be making special appearances and signing pins today from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, so if you missed him this morning, you still have a chance to catch him.

There are a number of fun photo props to pose with at the display, like a holiday frame and a commemorative 10th anniversary sign.

Gingerbread Treat Kiosk

The gingerbread fun doesn’t stop there! There’s a special Gingerbread Treat Kiosk adjacent to the display with a number of cookie treats to purchase, including a special cookie box, some plant-based and vegan treats from Erin McKenna’s Bakery in Disney Springs, and of course, your classic iced gingerbread man cookies, jam cookies, gingerbread shingles, and peppermint cookies.
