It’s Coronation Day! The all-new “Frozen: A Musical Invitation” has officially opened at The Animation Celebration in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris and we were there to take in the snowy splendor of the new show. An Olaf meet and greet has also debuted inside the space at the show’s exit, which is huge given how long fans have been asking for a Frozen meet and greet at Disneyland Paris. The new Animation Celebration opened inside the former Art of Animation, which closed back in January of this year.
We’d liken the new “Frozen: A Musical Invitation” show to a hybrid of the “Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” show at Disney California Adventure, trying to combine some elements that worked in both of those. There’s plenty of singing from the characters, but they also encourage the audience to participate in dances, adding a fun interactive element.
The new Sven puppet is very impressive, too.
You transition from Kristoff’s Barn to Elsa’s Ice Palace, where a dancing projection of an Olaf puppet (due to budget constraints, we assume) interacts with the three characters as part of the show’s finale.

Followed by the show, guests have the option to meet Olaf in his Frozen 2 inspired backdrop. Note that you need to reserve this meet and greet through the Lineberty app.

As far as the rest of the Animation Celebration updates go, we’re pleased with how everything turned out. The new signage and mural at Animation Academy features the same logo that was used at the Magic of Disney Animation inside Disney-MGM Studios back in the day:
The Toy Story Zoetrope that once spun at Disney California Adventure has also found a home here. It was removed from Character Close-Up at the Animation Academy after the addition of the Anna and Elsa meet and greet.

This show looks fun! And I miss those animation classes being at Florida’s Studios. At least DAK has them now!
