REVIEW: Juicy, Delicious Black Pepper Chicken Roll at Liberty Landing Diner for Tokyo DisneySea’s “Disney Christmas 2019”

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Disney Christmas, everyone! It’s the holiday season at Tokyo Disney Resort, and that means a new slate of food to devour and review for you all! So, let’s take a closer look at the tasty treats to celebrate the season this year!

The “Taste of Christmas” program is on at Tokyo DisneySea’s American Waterfront! This neat little event features snack outlets in the New York area pairing special treats with beer or special seasonal cocktails. Here at Liberty Landing Diner, the classic Black Pepper Pork Roll has received a twist of plum for the holidays, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost any of its normal juicy deliciousness! How does it stack up? Well, let’s find out for ourselves!

The pairing at Liberty Landing Diner features a hot yuzu and ginger drink, but we skipped that for today. Liberty Landing Diner is generally the home of a pork and rice roll, but this (arguably superior) treat has unseated it for the holidays.

TDS OkonomiyakiRoll 4

Like with the Okonomiyaki Roll, this treat was so slippery (but from juice rather than grease) that taking an interior shot was darn near impossible without spilling the contents. Unlike the Okonomiyaki Roll, this is so incredibly delicious that it was hard to resist scarfing it all down! Between the delicious, juicy chicken and the generous helping of spices both inside and on top, there’s quite the taste sensation with this little roll! The one drawback is that you absolutely should expect to use the wrapper to hold and contain the mess from eating this, because juice, meat, and spices will all leak, and it’s certainly far too hot and wet to pick up and eat. The extra plum twist was rather light, but noticeable nonetheless. It certainly added a nice holiday flair to this otherwise perennial treat!

Overall, I can’t recommend the Black Pepper Chicken Roll enough for just about anyone! Even for $5, I felt like this was delicious enough to warrant a bit more cost. If you’re sailing around Tokyo DisneySea, drop anchor at Liberty Landing Diner through December 25th! Your stomach will thank you!
