This crispy tostada comes with tender pork and a cream sauce that really lightens it up. The pickled onions are a great compliment to the overall dish as well.

The red sauce is the perfect amount for a nice subtle kick of spice, however we can’t really tell that there is chicharrone dust on this, which is disappointing.

*NEW* Tamal de Pollo: Braised Chipotle Chicken served in a Corn Masa with Yellow Mole and topped with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Queso Cotija and Crema Mexicana – $6.75

*NEW* Tamal de Pollo: Braised Chipotle Chicken served in a Corn Masa with Yellow Mole and topped with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Queso Cotija and Crema Mexicana – $6.75

This tamale comes out of the wrapper so no one accidentally ends up eating it. The chicken was hard when we got ours. We’re not sure if it’s because it’s cold outside or if that’s just how it’s served.

There are really good flavors in this though. The chicken is mildly spicy and the sauce is creamy and rich, making this really delicious. The cojita cheese makes it worth it.

*NEW* Horchata Cheesecake: Creamy Rice Cheesecake served with Cajeta Sauce – $5.00

The cheesecake isn’t what you’d expect out of a proper cheesecake. Maybe it’s because it’s a creamy rice cheesecake, but it’s gritty, lumpy and gross.

*NEW* Horchata Cheesecake: Creamy Rice Cheesecake served with Cajeta Sauce – $5.00

There were a lot of weird flavor combinations going on when we ate it. It kind of looks like a brick of tofu with some icing and it looks about as unappetizing as it seems.

*NEW* Holiday Cider: Hard Apple Cider with Cinnamon-infused Tequila – $7.00

*NEW* Holiday Cider: Hard Apple Cider with Cinnamon-infused Tequila – $7.00
*NEW* Holiday Cider: Hard Apple Cider with Cinnamon-infused Tequila – $7.00

This cider lacks any taste of tequila. It simply tastes like regular hard apple cider with some cinnamon thrown in. However, it is our favorite of the three drinks here.

*NEW* Mexican Fruit Punch: Mezcal, Red Wine and Blackcurrant Liqueur infused with Star Anise, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger and Orange Peel (served warm) – $12.50

*NEW* Mexican Fruit Punch: Mezcal, Red Wine and Blackcurrant Liqueur infused with Star Anise, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger and Orange Peel (served warm) – $12.50

This is definitely not fruit punch, so don’t let the name fool you. This tastes like the spiced wine from the Germany pavilion that we were not a fan of. There is hardly any fruity flavors to even taste in this drink which is a disappointment.

It’s really hard to swallow and is similar to that of an overly strong wine. It’s almost like it’s trying to be like a sangria, but spiced and the attempt does not stick the landing. We’re not fans of this.

*NEW* Horchata Margarita: Tequila, Horchata Rum, Cinnamon Whisky and Agua de Horchata, served on the rocks – $11.50

*NEW* Horchata Margarita: Tequila, Horchata Rum, Cinnamon Whisky and Agua de Horchata, served on the rocks – $11.50

This is like horchata flavored coconut water, and it even says in the description “Agua de Horchata” so we should have known then. It’s a very thin consistency and it’s sippable, but not entirely drinkable. The cinnamon is hard to find in here and no flavors really stand out either.
