The holidays have arrived, and so have new seasonal shakes from Schmoozies! at Disney California Adventure! This year, you can try two different unique shakes, Peppermint Mickey Shake and Churro Shake. These both will be available from November 8th, 2019 to January 6th, 2020.
Schmoozies! is located in Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure.
Here’s a look at the full Schmoozies! holiday menu for this year.
Peppermint Mickey Shake (Peppermint chocolate creme cookie shake, whipped topping, Christmas accents, chocolate-filled cookie ears) – $7.99
The Peppermint Mickey Shake itself is a peppermint chocolate creme cookie ice cream. The peppermint taste was the strongest flavor note here, but there were hints of cookie infused in this shake. It was delicious, and the peppermint was not overdone and lead to a refreshing taste.
The shake is topped with red and white whipped cream to resemble a Santa hat. There is also a small marshmallow on the top portraying the puff ball that is usually on Santa’s hat. Can’t forget Mickey ears, of course! The ears are made of “chocolate-filled cookie ears,” better known as Oreos. The whipped cream was light, but very sugary. If you’re not a fan of whipped cream, I recommend you try something else or ask them to hold on the whip, as there is a lot of it topping this shake.
The lining of the edge of the cup is covered in red, white, and green sprinkles. These sprinkles completed the aesthetic of the shake, but didn’t add much flavor. When we sipped the shake from the side, most of the sprinkles remained attached to the cup.
The cookies were a bit soggy from sitting in the shake after a while.
The whipped cream melted into the shake, making it a tad bit sweeter, but we didn’t mind. Overall, this was a delicious holiday shake. The flavors all complimented each other, and it was a very generous portion.
Churro Shake (Brown sugar-cinnamon ice cream, cinnamon churro cereal, whipped topping and churro toffee) – $7.49
This shake is different from anything you’ve ever tried before. The shake is made of brown sugar-cinnamon ice cream that tastes identical to a churro. The texture was strange, as it was very frothy. If you can get over the texture, then you’ll enjoy this treat.
The shake has a whipped cream top that is extremely light and fluffy. It tasted a little bit like vanilla.
On top of the whipped cream, there are pieces of cinnamon churro cereal. These little bits were very crunchy. In the middle of the drink was a piece of churro toffee. This was for sure the highlight of the whole shake. The toffee was the perfect topper as it added a unique taste to the treat while still holding the churro taste.
The whipped cream and cereal pieces complimented each other nicely.
The upper edge of the cup was covered in classic churro sugar. Much like the Mickey Peppermint Shake, when we sipped the drink, most of the sugar remained attached. Overall, this was a fun shake. Any churro lover would enjoy this treat, as long as they don’t mind an unusual texture.
Make sure to stop by Schmoozies! before January 6th, 2020 if you want to try one of these for yourself! Let us know what you think! Thanks for reading and come back soon.
