Bright suns from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! It’s an exciting week here with the much anticipated attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening December 5th. Let’s see what’s going on around the park!
Before we even got inside the park, we noticed a brand new sign has appeared over the entrance’s security checkpoint. Its sleek, minimalistic style mirrors the sign that recently went up on the Studio Arch at Animation Courtyard.
A tractor has appeared at the construction site at the front entrance. As we walked around the site, workers were in the process of removing concrete.
We spotted a new MagicBand in The Darkroom. It features imagery from a vintage photo of Walt Disney surrounded by Mickey plushes. It retails for $29.99.
A whole collection of pins has been released celebrating the upcoming new year. We love this particular one that features Stitch using his multiple arms to munch on multiple Mickey Bars. That’s our forever mood! It’s $12.99.
A new Yoda display popped up in Keystone Clothiers. We think this is a meager attempt to pander to Baby Yoda fans.
The Citizens of Hollywood were taking a drive around Echo Lake. As always, Flora Fierra was ready to have her picture taken.
Construction continues on the new Mickey Shorts Theater. The only sign of work was a missing piece of the ceiling.
Now let’s head over to Batuu to see what’s going on with Rise of the Resistance.
Risers and big screens have been set up for the media night happening on December 4th.
Residents of Batuu stood watch over the risers bearing the mark of the Resistance.
Meanwhile in at the Creature Stall at Black Spire Outpost, a loth cat cuddles his stuffed porg.
Our favorite cowgirl, Jessie, was out and about in Toy Story Land. She was sporting a festive peppermint candy-inspired vest for the holiday season.
At Star Wars Launch Bay in Animation Courtyard, authors of various Star Wars novels were holding a book signing later in the day.
Inside Launch Bay Cargo, the new AT-ST Toy from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian was on display.
In a personal victory for us, the random live-action Aladdin merchandise that resided in the Rock Around the Shop, the gift shop for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, is now gone. We always found the Aladdin merchandise odd and out of place. We had no idea how it ended up there in the first place.
You might be a little disappointed if you were looking for Cars merchandise outside of Lightning McQueens’ Racing Academy. One of the merchandise kiosks was missing.
Since it was a Star Wars heavy day, we’ll say goodbye like they do on Batuu. ‘Til the Spire! Are you excited for the opening of Rise of the Resistance? Let us know in the comments!
