The entrance to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is in the midst of a massive makeover to enhance the park entry experience. Today, we saw several new updates since our last check-in.
The area that will be a new section of boat docks for resort boats has been flattened down to just dirt.
Some wood framing and walls have appeared in the area, as well as a few pipes and some extra construction vehicles.
The security checkpoint for guests arriving via Disney bus has opened for daily use, but work still continues as final details are added to the overall structure.
Concrete is still needed around the base of both sides of the security checkpoint.
On the other side of the monorail, the planters we’ve kept an eye on finally emerged. They have really brightened up the space and added some visual interest to the park entrance walkway!
There are still large sections of walkway behind construction walls and missing concrete underneath monorail supports, which extends toward the park entrance. It looks like these areas will have planters and new pink concrete in place of the Walk Around the World bricks.
Keep checking back in with WDW News Today for more updates on this construction project and many others around the Walt Disney World Resort.
