PHOTOS: New Attraction Themed Retro Phone Cases Coming to Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disney Resort has really been leaning in to the nostalgia theme as of late. Between the Team Disney line this summer and the upcoming Very Very Minnie, looks like they’re aboard the same nostalgia train the domestic parks are on. So it was no surprise today when we spotted these new retro-style phone cases in the Tokyo Disney Resort app’s “Coming Soon” section. Let’s take a look at these two adorable designs coming to both parks December 20th!
iPhone 6/6S/7/8 Phone Case – ¥3500 ($31.93)
I will say, I think it’s a short-sighted decision to release cases for devices long since supplanted by the iPhone X/XS/11 designs. In fact, I often see those more recent phones in the park rather than older ones. But these designs are cute nonetheless! It appears that each purchase comes with two backing designs you can use. Each features retro-style Mickey and Minnie enjoying an attraction at each park! And with the pre-1999 Tokyo Disneyland logo for an extra retro touch. On this set, we see the iconic couple enjoying Tokyo DisneySea’s Aquatopia or Tokyo Disneyland’s Alice’s Tea Cups. Plus the color accents match the art style quite well!
And on this set, we can join Mickey and Minnie on one of the resort’s two spinner rides. Either take a flight aboard Tokyo Disneyland’s Dumbo the Flying Elephant, or Tokyo DisneySea’s Jasmine’s Flying Carpets! You know, I would actually consider these cases if they were made to accommodate either newer or more phones. Often the smartphone cases sold at TDR feature a sticky pad inside a little wallet/book thing so any phone can be used. From what I can tell, your phone goes into a rubber holder and you add the backing of your choice. They’re still really cute, no matter the designed model! You’ll be able to find these phone cases at stores across Tokyo Disney Resort from Friday, December 20th! Gotta show off that TDR swag when you come home, after all!
