This morning at the Magic Kingdom, we spotted the One Day at Disney book, which is a companion book to the documentary of the same name on Disney+. The book and documentary detail the roles of Cast Members and just how much work it takes to run major theme parks, television networks, merchandise design, production, and so much more for The Walt Disney Company.
You can now find “One Day at Disney” books on display throughout The Emporium on Main Street.
The book is split into eight different chapters, each detailing what goes on in various Disney locations at different times of the day.
A full 24 hour span is covered from midnight to midnight and everything in between. The edges of the pages are color-coded as an easy directory to find the particular time of day the reader might be interested in.
Full of beautiful, glossy, full color photos of Cast Members making magic happen, the book focuses on a variety of positions throughout different departments at The Walt Disney Company. Some pages show veterinarians at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park, merchandise developers, attraction hosts and hostesses, animatronic engineers, show managers, and actors and actresses.
Each profile page lists the Cast Member’s name, their hometown, their job title, and their favorite Disney movie or attraction. Next, there is an explanation of the Cast Member’s job, how they got to that position, and a few quotes from them about the job.
This is a fantastic coffee table book and companion to the documentary. It would be the perfect holiday gift to your favorite Disney fanatic who is always speculating how they make things work behind the scenes. We found the book at The Emporium on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom for $50. It can also be purchased on shopDisney at this link or on Amazon at this link.
