Mickey Mouse will soon be making appearances at the Imagination! pavilion as part of the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. Now, we can see a bit of his upcoming meet and greet location peeking out over the construction walls.
The meet and greet area is located just inside the entrance to the attraction (the first room, not the video pre-show area.) From the detailing on the column, we can see the design work already matches the filmstrip concept art that was previously shared during the announcement of the new meet and greet:
The filmstrip will showcase Mickey over the course of his animated career, from Steamboat Willie, to Fantasia, to The Band Concert. At the center of the space, Mickey himself will meet against a royal blue curtain with his initials, “MM” hoisted over the center.
The filmstrip also appears to scroll across the top of the meet and greet area.
Already, there is plenty of overhead track lightning installed to make sure your photos with Mickey are Instagram-ready!
As was announced earlier this week, the new meet and greet location will be opening on January 5th after the closure of the current temporary EPCOT Character Spot inside Innoventions West. You can check out all of the details on where characters will be meeting after the closure in this post here.
It is unknown how long Mickey will be appearing at this new location for, as a new Character Spot is expected to be constructed in the new World Celebration section of EPCOT.
WDW News Today will keep you updated as more of each new meet and greet location is revealed.
