“Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” may not have met box office expectations during its opening weekend, but Christmas Day was another story.
“The Rise Of Skywalker” made an impressive $32 million on Christmas Day in North America. This is the second highest single day gross for a Christmas Day showing. “The Force Awakens” holds the record with $49 million, which occurred on Christmas Day in 2015.
After its first eight days of release, “The Rise Of Skywalker” has brought in $259 million at the the domestic box office, with an additional $258 million internationally, bringing its worldwide box office total to $517 million.
“The Rise Of Skywlaker” is well on its way to becoming Disney’s seventh film to make over $1 billion at the box office this year.
