The bypass pathway that will take EPCOT guests behind Innoventions East and past the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Play! pavilion is seeing noticeable progress this week. Today, we stopped by to see the latest at the project site.
Over by the start of the pathway, we can see where the walls will connect over by Guest Relations.
Work on the sidewalk and some of the lighting at the side of the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind building continues.
Where the walls begin, we can see several characters from Zootopia adorn the walls. You can see what will be located inside the Play! pavilion, including the presence of a Zootopia attraction, here. Yesterday, the walls were not finished, but keep scrolling to see the finalized look that debuted today.
Over towards the entry courtyard for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind site, we can see more walls have gone up with Play! logo boards now installed.
The “Rock the Galaxy” art features Star-Lord and Groot, while the “Let’s Play” art features Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz.
Themed slabs of concrete in varying shades cap off the end of the current length of walls.
Where the walls end currently gives us a good idea to where the bypass will connect with currently open pathways.
The walkway most likely will bypass this garden area as it is also currently walled off over towards Mission: Space. The bypass will probably lead guests to the rear entrance to the new temporary Mouse Gear location.
