Work on the queue of “it’s a small world” at the Magic Kingdom is now underway with construction walls being put into place. The attraction will stay open during the queue refurbishment, but will cause the entrance of the attraction to shift.
Entrance to “it’s a small world” will move closer to the Tangled restrooms during the refurbishment, which is expected to last until sometime in Spring 2020.
Bright blue construction walls have been installed on the side of the queue that fit the color scheme of the attraction facade.
We do not know the exact extent of the refurbishment, but any beautification to existing attractions is always welcome, and this queue was notorious on our Weekly Maintenance Report for its burnt-out lights and faded features.
While the queue refurbishment will not impact the operation of the attraction, it does make the queue feel more closed off because of the construction walls.
Scrims on one side of the queue, combined with construction walls on the other side give this area a very industrial feel.
Even the queue inside the show building is getting worked on, so we expect this refurbishment to take some time to complete.
Once again, there is no end date to this queue refurbishment, but “it’s a small world” will remain open during the work.
