Bonjour from the France pavilion in EPCOT! Today as we took a stroll through the World Showcase, we noticed some peculiar things in front of Palais du Cinema. This theater is home to “Impressions de France” and is getting an interior makeover and a Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along.
We can again see the magnifique facade of Palais du Cinema. For the last few days, construction walls were up around the entry to the theater. But the walls are down and it’s clear some paving and prep work has been done to the courtyard’s flooring. Let’s take a closer look.
If you regularly follow WDW News Today’s construction updates, you’ll recognize the scoring/slash marks in the ground.
The concrete in this area has been scored just like it was in front of Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie before pink concrete replaced cobblestone. This indicates there is still more work to be done in this area.
A few sections of square concrete were replaced and had ropes around them.
Although it didn’t smell like paint and none of the paint appeared fresh, there we saw a sign alerting guests that paint was wet on Palais du Cinema’s facade. But better safe than sorry, we guess!
There were also pretty hefty piles of beige-colored sawdust around the wet paint sign. Could construction workers have also touched up the facade?
As work continues in front of Palais du Cinema and on the entire France pavilion in general, WDW News Today will keep you updated! Check back soon to see the latest news on all these ongoing construction projects.
