With the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2020 starting in just over a week, final preparations are underway at all of the theaters debuting new shows, like the Harvest Theater inside The Land pavilion. Inside, the new “Awesome Planet” environmental film will make its debut on January 17th, 2020, and outside, new permanent signage has been added to the theater’s entrance.
The permanent 3-D printed sign that hangs over the entrance was installed back in mid-December. The temporary “Coming Soon” signage beneath it is still here and is expected to remain until January 17th, barring any soft openings.
We were wondering what had happened to the illuminated sign that had appeared here earlier in the year, but it has since been replaced with a bigger, better version that also includes a digital wait time for the show.
The large sign is encased in stainless steel with an embedded, illuminated poster for the show and a digital slot with “Minutes To The Next Show” printed on.
The new sign now hangs adjacent to the theater entrance, beckoning guests to watch the new film.
“Awesome Planet” will be an on-screen exploration of the realm we call home, showcasing the spectacular beauty, diversity, and dynamic story of Earth with all the grandeur guests have come to expect. With spectacular nature photography, immersive in-theater effects, and space sequences created by none other than Industrial Light & Magic (which provided the cinematic foundation for the Star Wars franchise), “Awesome Planet” will stir EPCOT guests and deliver an environmental message that will resonate far beyond its final scenes.
