While Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is getting closer to its March 4th opening, many of us are still deeply mourning the loss of The Great Movie Ride. That being said, it’s nice to see at least one piece of the ride has found a good home!
In a new political endorsement video, Dick Van Dyke can be seen with the audio-animatronic Bert from the Mary Poppins scene of the ride!
The Great Movie Ride opened on May 1, 1989 and closed August 13, 2017, almost three years ago. The now 31-year-old audio-animatronic still looks great next to his living counterpart, though he seems to be missing part of his chimney sweep.
We would love to see more audio-animatronics from Great Movie Ride living good lives, though it’s doubtful we will. In the meantime, you can still revisit The Great Movie Ride in all its old Hollywood glamor in our closing ride-through video:
So Dick is a communist too? Who knew. Luckily his supporters are limited to the lunatic fringe…Hollywood, academia, and millenials.
I’m really miss this ride, but am looking forward to the first Mickey themed ride.
Of course Bert is a Bernie bro…do you think all those odd jobs give him healthcare benefits?
It is disappointing to see Dick Van Dyke wade into politics. He has been universally liked, and this will cause many of us to think less of him.
More like weekend at Bernies.
Yep. Better than Ellen’s!
