This would not be the first problem Disney has encountered which has arisen from the terrible outbreak. Since the end of January, both Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland have been closed due to the virus, and guests at Tokyo Disney Resort have been advised of concerns and protocol regarding the virus too. In an earnings call earlier this month, Disney announced that they were anticipating to experience $280 million in losses due to the two resort closures, which is obviously a huge sum to contend with.
In Disneyland Paris, a set of “Onward” pins were expected to be released on February 29th, in celebration of the movie’s premiere. These have been delayed, and it has not yet been announced how long for. Hopefully this dreadful virus will soon clear, and all regular trading and park operations will be able to resume as normal.
