The popular Butterfly House that is usually present at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival looks like it will be getting a new home this year. The walk-through, which was usually housed behind Club Cool (up until its present demolition) features a tented garden with various breeds of butterflies that you can interact with.

In walking through EPCOT this morning, we noticed tent poles and wires going up beside The Land pavilion. The necessity to move the location from behind Club Cool/Innoventions West is of course because, well, there is no Innoventions West or Club Cool anymore. EPCOT is going through a major overhaul, and the need to shuffle a few pavilions is necessary.

Here, we can see the poles and wires connecting them rising from the somewhat hidden construction area.

These structures will form what will be the Butterfly Garden for EPCOT’s upcoming Flower & Garden Festival 2020.

We can see just beyond the pond, the scope of how big the site will be to house the large tent. Weighted chain entrances are also usually employed to keep the insects from flying out.

Peering into the interior through the open construction door, we can see that dirt is being laid and the tent poles have been secured to the ground.

Tucked behind the snack stand in the foreground, we can see the somewhat large area that will house the Flower & Garden activity.

A little on the nose, but the construction walls that house this project are painted over with large, colorful butterfly photo ops for the Festival of the Arts. This would seem to be a subtle hint that this in fact will be the location of the Butterfly Garden. While the former location was arguably more central, its new location is definitely more fitting.

We will keep you updated on the process of this project and others in the coming days. This is sure to move to completion rather quickly, as the festival begins in just a matter of weeks on March 4.
