We checked in on the construction surrounding the walkway connecting the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort today, and things look like they’re progressing well!

The first bit of construction as you travel from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary Resort surrounds a shaded structure.

You can see concrete work being done on the feet of the structure’s vertical supports.

Further down the path, landscaping has begun. Some of the greenery is original to the pathway.

The last bit of screened off area closest to the Contemporary Resort is being used for the staging of construction materials.

On the other side of the monorail traveling from the Contemporary Resort to Magic Kingdom, some more noticeable progress is being made. This culvert is being filled with rebar and wooden supports, no doubt in preparation for concrete.

This circular structure has had an outer wall added, surrounding the rebar that was installed earlier. Almost time for concrete here too! Above that, you can also see some of the freshly-finished and painted walkway.

Lastly, a new corner of walkway has been revealed for use from behind the scrim. The fresh pavement looks so nice!

We’re excited for this beautiful new walkway to be complete! Keep in mind that while this construction takes place, a portion of the walkway remains open to pedestrians, so no need to take another mode of transportation between the Contemporary Resort and the Magic Kingdom if you don’t wish to. It looks like it’s coming along well!
