Darling it’s better, down where it’s wetter, under the sea! Over 30 years after the film’s release, Betsey Johnson has collaborated with Disney Parks blending these beloved characters with her whimsical and bold aesthetic to create a splash-tastic collection inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Little Mermaid.” Her latest set of Minnie ears have now swam into Walt Disney World, and they’re fit for undersea royalty.
The ears are covered in teal-aqua sequins which continue all long the base of the headband.
In the center, a bow has been replaced by shimmering pieces of pink coral, glittering shells, and some jewel-encrusted characters.
If you look closely, you’ll notice Sebastian, Flounder, and even a dinglehopper.
In Betsey’s signature, over-the-top style, these characters all feature tiny jewels.
See those flecks of coral pink on the sequins?
They’re fully flippable, which means you can switch from teal to pink with just a flip of a fin.
On the back, the coral features a gold charm embossed with the Betsey Johnson logo.
The color-changing sequins continue on the back as well, and also on the sides:
On the inside, a comb-like nylon material keeps these precious ears firmly velcro’d onto your head.
As with any addition to the Disney Parks Designer Collection, these ears are a pricey endeavor, and they retail for $148. And no, you can’t sign off your voice in exchange for them.
We found these ears at Uptown Jewelers in the Magic Kingdom, but they are also available at Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories at Disney Springs and The Disney Dress Shop at Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. For those of you who can’t make it to the parks, these treasures will also be available online in March on shopDisney.com.
