Lumiere’s Kitchen Reopens at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel After COVID-19 Closures

While all U.S. Disney Parks are on lockdown, thankfully it seems there’s some sense of normalcy returning to the parks overseas in Asia. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in China, Shanghai Disney Resort has been closed since late January. Earlier this month, Shanghai Disney Resort announced that some operations would tentatively resume on March 9th. While Shanghai Disneyland Park remains closed, the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Disneytown, and Wishing Star Park have since resumed limited operations, and now, Lumiere’s Kitchen has reopened to guests.

Lumière’s Kitchen now offers brunch and dinner during weekends. Guests will be able to enjoy brunch from 11:30-14:00 on Saturday and Sunday as well as dinner on Saturday evenings from 17:30-21:00. Special appearances by popular Disney characters add a touch of star-studded magic. Choose from an array of appetizers, salads, international entrées and of course, a dazzling array of Beauty and the Beast-themed desserts.

If you’ve never heard of Lumiere’s Kitchen (and are probably pining to visit now after being made aware of its existence, like I am right now), you can check out an in-depth look at the restaurant, plus a full tour of the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, in this fascinating trip report from 2018.

In accordance with relevant regulations, every guest entering Shanghai Disney Resort will be required to undergo temperature screening procedures upon their arrival and will need to present their Health QR Code when entering dining venues, and are required to wear a mask during their entire visit. Guests will also be reminded to maintain respectful social distances at all times while in stores, queues, and restaurants.

Shanghai Disneyland Park will remain closed until further notice. There’s still no further new information regarding Hong Kong Disneyland operations, and Tokyo Disney Resort is now tentatively scheduled to reopen in early April. We’re pleased to see operations inch towards normality once again and hope this situation will come under control soon.
