Josh Brolin Hoping To Return As Cable In The MCU

Cable.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=526&ixlib=php 1.2

Josh Brolin was a pretty busy boy when it came to Marvel characters on the big screen. Not only did he portray the MCUā€™s biggest villain and protagonist Thanos, but he also played Cable in “Deadpool 2”. And although Thanos has bit the dust, Cable was alive and kicking at the end of “Deadpool 2”.

Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, recently spoke of Josh Brolinā€™s interest to return and make his debut in the MCU as everyone’s favorite time-hopping mutant.

From Comicbook.com:

“I’m going to tell your viewers…Josh wants to be Cable again sooner than later,” Liefeld tells ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis. “He is itching to be Cable again. He loved being Cable. He told me he understands how beloved his role as Thanos is, but he doesn’t look completely like Josh Brolin.”
Liefeld adds, “These are Josh Brolin’s own words telling me, Rob Liefeld. He told me, ‘Rob when I appeared as Cable in Deadpool 2, my phones rang off the hook.’ It changed everything for him and obviously Josh is gonna get some career lifetime achievement award at some point. The guy is just one of our greatest actors.”

Later in the week, Rob Liefeld went on to clarify what he said:

For the record, what I stated was that Josh LOVED playing Cable. He loved training to be Cable, he wants to explore the character further and wants to get even more buff the next time he plays him. Heā€™s a champ, I love him as Cable and look forward to more Deadpool.

We still don’t know how Marvel is going to handle things when it comes to Marvel properties that were owned by Fox, but it seems likely that they will want to keep Deadpool and company around since those movies were so popular. As far as Cable goes, his story was more tied to the X-Men, so maybe they will reunite him with those characters and let Deadpool go and do his own thing.

Will We See Red Skull Teturn To The MCU?

X8xFncot Red Skull.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=500&ixlib=php 1.2

Did you ever wonder, what happened to the Red Skull at the end of “Avengers: Endgame” now that he no longer has to guard the Soul Stone? Well, according to Ross Marquand, the actor who portrayed him in both ā€œAvengers: Infinity Warā€ and ā€œAvengers: Endgameā€, we might actually see him return back to the living to extract revenge on those who sent him there.

Ross Marquand recently speaking with Nerd4Life:

“Directors Anthony and Joe Russo said once the Red Skull is released of the Soul Stone, once Thanos gets it and then once Hawkeye gets it, he’s essentially free. But if we think about it, there’s all these different multiverses now. So in one multiverse, when Thanos frees him, he’s free. I would imagine the first thing he would do if he still has a vendetta, or if any part of him still has ambition, would go back to Earth.”

It was great to see Red Skull back in the last two Avengers movies and I think most fans would love to see the return of one of Marvelā€™s greatest villains either to the big screen or the small screen. The Red Skull would definitely be a huge threat to the heroes of the MCU!

Although fans have been dying to see the superhero team-up of Spider-Man and Spawn for years, they may need to wait a little longer, because the image above was made specifically for the cover of an upcoming Overstreet Price Guide.

But it is still great to see Todd McFarlane bring two of the most popular characters that he has ever drawn together for the first time. And not only that, but it has been over 27 years since we have seen McFarlane draw Spider-Man. Those were the good old days! Letā€™s hope this is the start of something good!

Amazing Spidy 101.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=1000&ixlib=php 1.2

Morbius The Living Vampire is a classic Spider-Man villain that first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. Lucky for Spider-Man that he had four extra arms at the time to help him out! Michael Morbius acquired his vampire addiction while researching a cure for his own rare, fatal blood disease. He has been both a villain and later went on to be an antihero.

We still know very little about the “Morbius” movie except for what was revealed in the trailer months ago. Fans are hoping that Spider-Man makes an appearance at some point during the movie and there are definitely some clues throughout the trailer that we might see some version of Spidey back in action!

ā€œMorbiusā€ is currently slated to release in theaters on July 31st.
