PHOTOS: Colorful New Mary Blair-Inspired Paper Cup Designs Make Their Way To Walt Disney World

It was only a couple of weeks ago that we reported on the colorful new design of popcorn containers which have made their way across carts throughout Walt Disney World resort. First debuted as hot food wrappers in the Disneyland Resort, the Mary Blair-inspired pattern is eye-catching and incredibly fun, so we are more than pleased to find that matching paper cups have started to arrive in the resort as well.

These new cups were designed by Disney artist Jeff Granito, whose work is recognisable for its bold blocks of bright colors. These new cups match the popcorn containers in their fun patterns made of simple shapes, pieced together in an almost “It’s a small-world”-type fashion. You can see amongst the patterns outlines of different modes of Disney icons, including the Monorail, a Disney Cruise Line ship, a Mickey balloon, and more. The Coca-Cola logo is scattered prominently throughout, along with red and white outlines of a cola bottle.

You can see in this image a side-by-side view of the new cup with the current style. The cups we have been used to are a deep red in color, featuring the four main park icons floating around in red bubbles, alongside the resort logo and the Coca-Cola logo. I prefer the update, do you agree?

We first found these cups over in Disney’s Rivera Resort. Although it’s only the child-size cups we have seen sporting this new print, we can expect the new design to be rolled out resort-wide fairly soon.
