Families looking to have an extra fin-tastic visit learning and exploring at EPCOT can now become sea-sleuths with Finding Dory’s Friends, a new self-led journey through The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion. Just announced this morning, we head out to EPCOT to check out what the new scavenger hunt was like.
I’m not entirely sure what I had in mind when this was announced, as I half assumed this would be something integrated into the Play! app or otherwise laminated sheets like the ones you find on trails throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but with this new scavenger hunt, you actually get this adorable booklet!
You can find the booklet station inside the SeaBase, on the first floor, which is where guests are dropped off after the attraction. If wait times are too long for the ride, you can enter the SeaBase aquariums through the gift shop on the side, just past stroller parking. This adorable, illuminated sign features Dory, Nemo, and Mr. Ray, as well as stacks of booklets guests are free to take.
A Cast Member is stationed at the stand to help distribute booklets and answer any questions.
Similar to Wilderness Explorers, you follow a map through the pavilion to solve rhyming puzzles and look for clues to help Dory remember and locate her marine friends. This new experience offers a fun and interactive way for guests of all ages to learn more about the varied sea life throughout the pavilion.
Let’s take a look inside of the booklet, which makes an excellent (free) souvenir as it is.
The soft-cover booklet includes a full two pages of ten stickers featuring a variety of sea life, all in cartoon form to appeal to kids (and adults alike.)
The first page includes an easy-to-follow map of the SeaBase, and the first practice sticker space.
On the back, they encourage you to explore additional resources, like DisneyAnimals.com.
Disney media was on site getting photos of the booklet as well.
Let’s explore the rest of the booklet!
Inside the pavilion, there’s no additional new signage (besides the main stand) related to the scavenger hunt, but the designs on the booklet are easy to match up against the informative signs throughout:
For example, we found the Banggai Cardinalfish! Do note that as this is a free activity, there is no prize as with the paid festival scavenger hunts that usually include some kind of merch. Your prize is this booklet!
