The Walt Disney Company has elected new Disney CEO Bob Chapek, its seventh chief executive officer, to the Board of Directors. Chapek will not be joining any board committees for now.
In a joint statement from Chairman Bob Iger and Independent Lead Director Susan Arnold, they lauded Bob’s leadership during this time:
“Bob Chapek has demonstrated remarkable leadership in the face of unprecedented challenges that were unimaginable when he became CEO just seven weeks ago, and we’ve watched him navigate this very complex situation with decisiveness and compassion.”
Bob Chapek was promoted to CEO in late February, taking over for Bob Iger. His appointment to the Board of Directors comes just days after the publication of a New York Times article where it was implied that Bob Iger was essentially taking back his responsibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Bob Chapek has demonstrated remarkable leadership in the face of unprecedented challenges” You mean the same leadership that prompted Iger to retake the duties of CEO? All Chapek has done is raise food prices by 50-75% at a time when nobody is even leaving their house.
His resemblance to Lex Luthor is uncanny, especially in that particular photo.
