In November, we showed you the model of the “Frozen” themed land coming to Hong Kong Disneyland. In the model, we see the town of Arendelle with its many homes, tiny shops, and facades. Off in the back, you see the snow-topped mountains looming over the village.
Now, there’s new drone footage of Hong Kong Disneyland which shows the progress being made at the new Frozen-themed land.
The new “Frozen” area is planned to include a one-of-a-kind coaster called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs that will take guests on a winding journey through Arendelle. Each experience on Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs begins when you visit Oaken’s infamous store. Then, Olaf and Sven help pull your sled to the top of the lift before sending you on your way.
A replica of Epcot’s Frozen Ever After attraction will also be opening here. Frozen Ever After takes guests on an adventurous journey through the kingdom of Arendelle. And during visits, guests will have the chance to see Elsa create a beautiful “winter-in-summer” day.
And in the aerial drone footage, you can see the building outline for Frozen Ever After to the right, as well as the beginning work on Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs at the bottom. We can also see that the entrance to the new land will be behind the Dumbo attraction, leading guests through a tunnel that goes underneath the long-closed Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad.
Are you excited to see everything new happening at Hong Kong Disneyland? It’s already shaping up to be a welcome, and I’m sure very popular, addition to the park.
Does anyone else think that Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs looks suspiciously like another Seven Dwarfs Mine Train clone; perhaps without the swinging element?
What about Paris?
They haven’t started, they’re pretty different projects outside of the one ride.
