PHOTOS: New Tokyo Disneyland 37th Anniversary Merchandise Collection Revealed

Tokyo Disneyland celebrated its 37th anniversary last week. Traditionally, this would be marked with a special line of merchandise released on April 15th. But since the parks have been closed since February 29th due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, we didn’t get to hear much about the line. Until the latest issue of Disney Fan came to our mailbox here in Japan! That’s right, the official Disney magazine in Japan shows off the latest in TDR merchandise! So let’s take a look at Tokyo Disneyland’s 37th Anniversary merchandise line, which is themed to Fantasyland this year. Please note that since these are magazine scans, the resolutions may not be ideal for some smaller items. In any case, you’ll notice some fun details about this merchandise, which is collectively themed to Fantasyland. All of the characters and motifs seem carved as if they were made by Geppetto (you’ll even notice Mickey is wearing a set of lederhosen.) Inside the anniversary mug, you can see Maestro Mickey from the old Mickey Mouse Revue stage show. Check out all the fun hidden details below!

Lots of cool stuff in here this year! I love that the designs revolve largely around Fantasyland, especially with the upcoming New Fantasyland expansion opening sometime in 2020! The magazine noted that the merchandise should be released in May, when the parks are currently set to reopen. This may change as the COVID-19 situation in Japan develops.
