BREAKING: Plots, More Details Revealed for “The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” and Other Upcoming Attractions at Tokyo Disneyland

Today, the Oriental Land Company revealed a massive amount of information regarding the new Tokyo Disneyland expansion! And that includes the E-Ticket, The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast! Also revealed were details regarding The Happy Ride with Baymax and the Minnie’s Style Studio meet-and-greet. All of these open April 15th, 2020 at Tokyo Disneyland!

The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast

Soaring to a height of around 100ft (30m), Beast’s Castle is the headliner attraction of this new expansion! The ride will be a trackless experience, building on technologies from the nearby Pooh’s Hunny Hunt and the new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction will be approximately 8 minutes long and offer Disney FastPass, single rider (thank goodness!), and Happy 15 Entry perks. I fully expect this to become the first FastPass of the day to run out.

OLC offered the following synopsis:

Guests step into the Beast’s castle located deep in the forest to experience the enchanted tale. In the first scene, the beautiful Belle encounters a prince who has been transformed into a beast by a powerful enchantress. Aboard enchanted cups that move and turn as if they are alive, guests travel through various scenes to experience the world of the film. There’s the banquet where they “dance” together with the dishes and cutlery to Lumiere’s singing; the snow-covered garden where they glide over the ice as Belle and the Beast find themselves growing closer. The castle is filled with magical moments and surprises, so guests will discover something new each time they visit. Will Belle and the Beast find love and thus break the spell before the last petal of the enchanted rose falls? Guests can look forward to the magical romance of The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast.

This sounds like the ultimate ride-through of a film, and I can’t wait to experience this for myself! That concept art above actually has me immensely excited to experience Be Our Guest and other notable moments from the classic film!

The Happy Ride with Baymax

The Happy Ride with Baymax will open in Tomorrowland. It will be a similar experience to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree or Alien Swirling Saucers. This is the world’s first attraction themed to the Disney film Big Hero 6. I’m so excited to to try this one! OLC offered the following backstory to the attraction:

The brilliant young inventor Hiro Hamada learned from his robotic personal healthcare companion Baymax that the first step in making people healthy is to make them happy. So, he and Baymax developed this wild, musical ride that is sure to make everyone happy! As Hiro’s favorite up-tempo music plays, guests aboard vehicles pulled by Baymax’s nurse bot friends can enjoy being whirled around in unexpected ways. A device on the attraction’s ceiling “scans” the guests with lights to measure their happiness while on the ride. The levels of happiness are sure to be high as guests enjoy the surprises and unexpected twists of the ride.

The attraction is sponsored by Daihatsu Motor Company and will offer Disney FastPass.

Minnie’s Style Studio

For the very first time at Tokyo Disneyland, Minnie’s got her own dedicated greeting spot! And it looks fancy, too!

OLC was kind enough to give us the story of Minnie’s new digs:

Decked out with a big, polka-dot bow, Minnie’s Style Studio is where Minnie Mouse designs, creates, and photographs her new fashions. Guests enter the lobby where posters of magazine covers featuring Minnie are on display, visit her office where she draws her original designs, and then pass through the workroom where Minnie’s designs become outfits. Finally, guests will enter the photo studio where Minnie will greet them wearing her latest high-fashion design for the season.Minnie’s costumes will come in four designs, one to match each season.

When Minnie’s Style Studio opens she’ll greet guests in a hat and a dress with a floral design perfect for the spring season.

The seasonal costumes idea intrigues me. That’ll be another excellent reason to keep coming back to Tokyo Disneyland!

All of these new offerings open April 15th at Tokyo Disneyland! You can only experience these here! Are you counting down the days until the expansion opens? I certainly am! I’ll probably visit these attractions at least a dozen times in the week they’re open, if I can! Will you be coming to Tokyo Disney Resort next year for these attractions?
