Although Disney Springs reopened last week, the second phase of store and restaurant re-openings (now including Disney-owned establishments) is taking place today. One of the eateries we’ve been dying to get back to is D-Luxe Burger, so let’s take a look at how the quick service restaurant is operating following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Such a beautiful sight to see, right?
Upon approaching the restaurant, social distancing signage can be seen, reminding guests it is compulsory to keep their distance. These signs have become commonplace across Disney Springs, to make sure all guests comply.
The main factor to take into account here is that a Mobile Order-only procedure is in place for the restaurant. A handy QR code has been installed on signs throughout the area to let guests know where to look to place their order, and greeters are on hand to talk through the process with anyone who may be unfamiliar with the online ordering system.
Here’s the menu – who hasn’t missed that El Diablo Burger?
Mobile Order is mostly the same as it was, but for this establishment, you will have to preorder a select soft drink type as you won’t have access to the soda fountain yourself.
Once guests are in close proximity to the restaurant and ready to pick up their food, they are encouraged to find a seat inside, outside, or on the expanded seating area out by the waterfront and wait to be called up, to join this (socially-distanced) queue.
The signage is spread out around the area, so guests don’t have to get too close to the building as they place their order, then wait for their food.
Once you get the notification that your meal is ready, just head to the front door. A cast member will check the order, and then tell you which bay to head to pick up your order. The pick-up stations are numbered on the floor and above so guests can identify where to head to.
Condiments, napkins, and utensils are available at each station. You can verify the name on the yellow slip on the bag to make sure you are at the right station as well. Sadly, the multitude of house-made fry sauces are missing.
Drinks are retrieved across the way. This did lead to some need to maneuver around guests, but I’m sure they’ll get the hang of this system in the coming days.
Previously, the beverage stations in D-Luxe were self-serve. Now, staff members are getting drinks for the diners, and placing them on a newly-installed, black-cloth-covered bar for guests to take away. You can come back in and ask for a refill if you need one.
The exit of the restaurant is out of the side door, allowing for a one-way system to be managed through the building.
Will you be visiting D-Luxe Burger any time soon? Enjoy, and don’t forget to stay safe!
I love this place! Can’t wait for things to get back to normal, one day.
Once the mask requirement is lifted, I will return to WDW
