Walt Disney World Resort Launches New “Experience Updates” Landing Page Ahead of Reopenings

Walt Disney World Resort announced that it plans to begin its phased reopening starting on July 11 with Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15.

To help keep guests informed on what changes will be made and how to “return to a world of magic”, the Walt Disney World Resort has launched a new “know before you go” Experience Updates landing page on their website.

The page explains how cleanliness, physical distancing, and reduced contact is only the start of the measures that will be put into place when Walt Disney World reopens.

A new Park Reservation system will be in place at the start of the reopenings. This means that guests must both have a park reservation and valid admission to the theme park in order to be allowed inside. This will help with limiting capacity and availability of other attractions and experiences.

At this time, there are also no new tickets being sold. If you have already purchased a ticket or are an Annual Passholder, you are able to make reservation requests before sales are open again. Disney Resort hotels reservations are also paused to honor reservations that have already been made.

The website also explains the safety procedures that will be in place for guests attending the theme parks. Just like at Disney Springs, guests will have to wear face coverings, go through temperature screenings before entering, and practice social distancing throughout the theme park.

There is a COVID-19 warning, which shares the risks of exposure to guests, even with these safety measures in place. Ultimately, you are voluntarily assuming all of the risks by attending and putting yourself within possible exposure to COVID-19 by attending the theme parks when reopened.

To conclude the information listed above, a “More to Explore” section has been added, providing more information on these procedures, as well as directing guests to the My Disney Experience App for more information.

  1. I initially assumed that park hopping wouldn’t be possible, but I’m wondering if you still can, you just need a valid pass or ticket that allows it AND have to make a reservation for all parks you plan to visit each day. That would make a lot more sense.
