With Central Florida’s theme parks beginning to open in the coming weeks, many furloughed employees will hopefully return to work. But for those still in need, Feed the Need Florida is here to help.

The organization, founded by 4 Rivers Restaurant Group creator John Rivers, has set up a meal distribution system for members of the arts community in need.

Every Tuesday from 11 AM to 1 PM, more than 250 arts professionals may receive meals through a drive-through meal-distribution line at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church at 4851 S. Apopka-Vineland Road in Orlando. As the program grows, distribution points will be added. The free meals are available to anyone in the arts community, which includes performers, musicians, costumers, designers, characters, technicians, entertainment management, and more.

It was announced on Wednesday that the parks of Walt Disney World will begin to reopen starting on July 11th, leaving many cast members weeks away from returning to work.

Since launching in late March, Feed the Need Florida has served up over half a million meals to people in need across the Sunshine State. If you’d like to learn more about Feed the Need Florida’s other efforts or wish to donate, be sure to check out their website.
