“Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction” Merchandise Releases Temporarily Suspended on shopDisney

It would appear that Minnie has gone on summer vacation… at least for now. A new update to the “Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction” landing page on shopDisney has put the collectible series on pause, at least through the summer.

The notice states the following:

Minnie Will Return Soon
Minnie has headed on summer vacation! Stay tuned and check back right here for the upcoming releases of Series 6 through 12. You won’t miss a thing as you build your magical collection.

Releases for Series 6 though 12 will supposedly receive new release dates, according to this update.

Series 6, themed to Peter Pan’s Flight, was scheduled for a June release this Saturday. The website has now updated the listing to merely say “Available soon!”, with no official release date. The newly-announced Series 7 collection, themed to King Arthur Carousel, lists no release date at all. According to the original release schedule, these would’ve gone live on the third Saturday in July.

It’s unknown when shopDisney will unveil the new on-sale dates for the upcoming series releases. Do keep in mind that even with select resorts and theme parks in Walt Disney World reopening in June and July (respectively), all limited edition merchandise releases will continue to be available solely on shopDisney until further notice.

  1. It’s about time Disney addresses this issue. There website is a joke. Fans can’t buy items for their own personal collection but resellers can purchase several items and sell them on Ebay for 3 – 4 times the retail value (the photo shows this seller still has 3 available for sale after already selling 15). They should buy build-a-bear software because at least it works!!!

  2. Gotta wonder if this is because of all the problems ShopDisney has with bots on limited edition merchandise sales. Last month’s release was particularly brutal.

  3. If their reason for postponing the release is to have them sold in stores once the stores open…. this is great news. The whole Minnie collection has been nothing but a nightmare since it was only sold online. I don’t mind at all if they postpone the collection for a few months until the stores open. Doing so will give real collectors and Disney fans a fair opportunity to be able to purchase the items for their collection rather than suffering the heartache of losing to bots or having to pay 10 times the amount to eBay sellers who main purpose is to make money off of people’s love for Disney. Having the collection on hold and returning them to in-store purchase is the best thing Disney can do to stop eBayers from scamming their fans.

  4. Yeah I wonder whatever happened with their CASTLE collection? They release Cinderella then nothing for 5 months now

  5. Been waiting for this release to get the ears for months. Really hoping they are implementing a pre-order or something so people don’t miss the release. I have been checking the site like crazy so I don’t miss out and stumbled across a Tiki Room restock if anyone wants stuff that missed out!

    • Where did you find the restock, that would be amazing. I had 24,000 in. holds at Disney thru the que waiting, and never got an item. It was so messed up.

  6. I’m also glad they’re doing this as I’ve been emailing Disney’s customer service about it several times. Ebay scalpers have been a huge problem the last few months! I logged on the day some of these went live and even though I was online 3 minutes after the go live time they were already sold out with hundreds of them listed on Ebay! True collectors should always get priority over the Ebay jerks.
