After closing down with the rest of Disney Springs on March 17, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar & Lounge has finally reopened today with a pared-down menu and socially-distanced seating. Like many restaurants in Disney Springs, Jock’s now uses a contactless menu, and in fact no longer provides any form of physical menu.
While the doors opened about 15 minutes after their posted opening time, according to the Disney Springs website, the small crowd gathered outside was no less excited to see this unique themed bar open once again. A hand sanitizer station was placed outside by the door, and while seating is a “choose your own adventure” situation, as the waiter told us, a podium was placed by the front door for a greeter to instruct you on the required use of hand sanitizer to enter, and to provide the QR code for the digital menu.
While some changes have been made to the seating arrangements, thankfully the atmosphere and theming has been left intact.
The bartender greeted us warmly as we stepped inside, the first guests inside this bar in over three months. Some seating at the bar appears to the blocked off in order to maintain a safe social distance in between parties.
Signs were placed at each end of the bar reminding guests to maintain physical distancing while at the bar.
To the left, the tables have been combined to allow for distance in between parties while still using the bench seat along the wall.
In the back left hand corner, one bench seat was blocked with a table while freestanding chairs were placed in front of the table. We’re unsure if this arrangement will stay or be moved once more guests arrive.
Out the back door on the patio, tables have been spaced six feet apart in order to keep guests safe while dining.
While some dining locations in Disney Springs have opted to make every other table unavailable in order to maintain social distance in between parties, Jock’s has removed unusable tables all together, opening up the space visually and making is easier to move in between tables.
Around the corner, one table still remains for larger parties wishing to sit together.
The adjoining additional seating aboard the vessel “Reggie” was blocked off, and is currently unavailable.
In addition to the chain preventing entry to the area, almost every table bore a sign stating that it was unavailable.
Past “Reggie”, traffic flow markers guided guests out to allow for a one-way-in, one-way-out establishment.
A hand sanitizer station stood at the exit as well.
