The simple, three-minute long video details not just the guidelines guests will have to adhere to, but also the precautions Universal has put in place too. We are assured that staff have been rigorously cleaning everything at the resort to prepare for the reopening, and staff has been trained to help ensure social distancing and safety cooperation.
As expected, and previously seen at CityWalk, face masks are a firm requirement for guests, except when enjoying resort pools, or swimming or boarding an attraction at Volcano Bay. Temperature screenings will be utilized, and anyone showing over 100.4°F (38°C) will be denied entry. Tables at restaurants have been spaced out to allow for social distancing, and from the video, it looks like seating in theater-type attractions will be directed by staff for distancing too.
A lot of signage can be expected around the entire resort, with familiar icons to remind guests about distancing, hand-washing, temperature checks, and more. With regards to attractions, there will be a virtual queue system introduced for participating attractions, in order to limit queuing. Similarly, mobile ordering will be available, for pick-up or delivery right to the table. For this reason, the Universal Orlando app is a must-download, to make the most of the trip.
Guests are reminded that, despite these measures, Universal Studios cannot guarantee that guests will not be exposed to COVID-19 during their visit, as the virus can be spread even by those who do not show symptoms. The video also draws on advice from the CDC, in that ‘older adults and people of any age with serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk’, and so should evaluate themselves whether or not to attend.
If you are visiting Universal Studios soon, make sure you check out the video in order to prepare for the changes. Remember your face mask, stay safe, but above all – have fun while riding the movies!
