WDWNT is Hiring: Looking for Director of Social Media and YouTube

As WDWNT continues to grow, we are looking for experienced individuals who can help us grow the reach of our content network, specifically on YouTube and social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram). Depending on level of experience as well as applicants’ availability, this could be one position or two. You may apply for one or both roles.

Before applying, please be aware of the following requirements:

  • A combined position would offer approximately 40 hours per week with flexible availability required.
  • Separately, the social media manager position would offer at least 30 hours per week. YouTube channel manager would offer 10 or more hours per week, with room to expand these hours depending on the candidate’s experience and strategic plan for the role.
  • You must have extensive familiarity with Walt Disney World and other aspects of the Walt Disney Company.
  • The Social Media Manager position is an Orlando-based position. If you are applying for the YouTube Channel Manager position only, geographic requirements do not apply.

Social Media Manager Job Description

The social media manager will develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for WDWNT across all social platforms, predominantly Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Candidates should have prior experince in social media at a professional level, at least a basic understanding of marketing principles, and sufficient writing and graphic design skills to create compelling social content. Applicants for this position must be based in the Orlando area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maximizing WDWNT’s presence and reach across all social platforms, including integration of website and video content
  • Engaging social media users
  • Growing followers/subscribers
  • Managing social media contests
  • Generating brand awareness and managing online reputation
  • Analyzing social media metrics and recommending strategies to increase KPIs
  • Monitoring and responding to changes in social media platform policies
  • Attending WDWNT or Walt Disney World special events to generate social media coverage

The position is paid $15.00 an hour and is based in the WDWNT office in Orlando. The details are below. The start date is immediate.

Required skills:

  • Prior experience and demonstrated success managing social media accounts for an organization
  • Knowledge of social media management tools
  • Extensive knowledge of and passion for Disney parks and resorts
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Walt Disney World annual pass
  • Video and photo editing experience

Preferred skills:

  • Marketing experience
  • SEO experience

YouTube Channel Manager

The YouTube channel manager will grow the WDWNT presence on YouTube. Take our thousands of hours of video content and help it reach a broader audience. An ideal candidate will also provide input into content generation with an understanding of what makes video content appealing and engaging on the platform.

Responsibilities include:

  • Propose and implement strategies to optimize the WDWNT YouTube channel, including growth in subscribers and views
  • Tracking and reporting the performance of YouTube channels, including discovering trends and providing insights
  • Uploading and optimizing videos on the WDWNT YouTube channel, creating playlists, and creating custom thumbnails (or working with design staff on optimizing thumbnails)
  • Collaborating with content generators to provide recommendations and best practices on both content and procedures for creating and posting video
  • Building engagement with viewers and other channels
  • Staying informed of platform updates and utilizing new features
  • Generating brand awareness and managing online reputation

Required skills:

  • Prior experience and demonstrated success managing and monetizing YouTube content
  • Familiarity with YouTube systems, policies and best practices for video SEO and discoverability
  • Average or above video editing skills
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort

Preferred skills/experience:

  • YouTube certifications or demonstrated completion of Creator Academy courses
  • Experience in managing other social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Marketing experience

The position is paid $15.00 an hour and would preferably be based in the WDWNT office in Orlando, but can also be done remotely. The start date is immediate.
