Are you ready to run with the best of the worst?

runDisney has announced that limited registration will open for the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend at 10 AM ET on Thursday, July 30th. This year’s Half Marathon Weekend will take place November 5th-8th, 2020.

Last week, we learned that the weekend’s events have shifted from their usual home at Walt Disney World to a virtual format, with runners now able to run their races from wherever they choose. Each race this year is themed to Disney Villains from Disney’s history of animation, including:

  • Kronk and Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove | Disney Wine & Dine 5K
  • Ursula from The Little Mermaid | Disney Wine & Dine 10K
  • The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs | Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon
  • Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas | Two Course Challenge
  • Captain Hook and Smee from Peter Pan | runDisney Kids Races

Those who register will receive a finisher medal, themed to a Disney villain. (I really like the Evil Queen framed by the magic mirror.)

Participants in the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Two-Course Challenge will also receive a long-sleeved tech shirt, while short-sleeved shirts have been made for the kids’ races.

Pricing and registration details can be found on the runDisney website. Those who were previously registered for the Half Marathon Weekend before the switch to virtual have until August 5th to choose to transfer their registration to the virtual races or receive a refund via check or Disney Gift Card.
