PHOTOS: Main Street Cinema at the Magic Kingdom Reopens With No Exterior Entrance and Social Distancing Markers
Main Street Cinema in the Magic Kingdom, home to the Art of Disney, a purveyor of 2-D and 3-D works of art of Disney subjects, reopened officially on July 11, 2020 (and previously for previews) as part of the original group of stores open for the initial phase of reopening in the park.
The one major change to the store was the removal of any direct access from Main Street, USA. The only entrance to the store is now through Uptown Jewelers, seen above.
Inside the store, the arrangement remains largely the same. The artist station remains, although a social distancing marker has been added for the protection of guests and Cast Members.
Classic animated films and shorts are still being played on the big screen.
Social distancing markers have been added to the queue for the register, as well as a plexiglass barrier to separate the guest and Cast Member. The cleaning of these barriers can be seen frequently all across Walt Disney World.
Previously the most direct way to access Main Street Cinema, through this foyer and out the doors leading to Main Street USA, is now an exit only for both Main Street Cinema and Uptown Jeweler.
