EPCOT reopened to the public today, and so has the Skyliner station at the International Gateway. We checked out the station and took a ride in the sky from EPCOT to the Caribbean Beach Resort station.
We already covered the International Gateway arrival experience earlier today. You do not need to go through the security and temperature screening process before entering the Skyliner station if you are approaching from the BoardWalk side.
Signs advertise flights to Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, and Hollywood Studios, which also reopened today. Caribbean Beach Resort has not yet reopened, but its Skyliner station acts as a major hub for other lines. Pop Century is open and Riviera Resort is open for Disney Vacation Club members only. Art of Animation will be reopening in August.
It’s a beautiful day to fly.
There are social distancing markers on the ramp leading up to the station. Check out the video below for a full walk-through of the current boarding process:
There was a hand sanitizer dispenser before boarding, but unfortunately it wasn’t working.
Cast Members were all wearing face masks and some were wearing face shields. They’re also given microphones so they can be better heard through all of the PPE (personal protective equipment.) Though there was no signage saying so, Cast only sat one party per cabin to maintain social distancing.
We got a few brief views of the streets of Paris and then we were off to the Caribbean Beach station.
It actually wasn’t too hot inside of the cabin, despite it being July in Florida.
We noticed upon arrival that nobody was cleaning cabins after guests left them.
There are more hand sanitizer dispensers ready for before and after boarding.
The only signs at the station were Disney’s standard COVID-19 warnings and reminders to social distance.
Trash cans were propped open, though maybe not as neatly as some others we’ve seen.
The ramp leading to Caribbean Beach was roped off while the resort remains closed.
Certain Cast Members at entry points had a headset microphone so it was easier to hear them through both the mask and the face shield.
The social distancing markers were color-coded for each destination. Green markers were for the EPCOT line, brown markers were for the Hollywood Studios line, and blue markers were for the Pop Century and Art of Animation line.
Once we finished looking around, we boarded another cabin and headed back to EPCOT.
The line stopped briefly at the Riviera station between Caribbean Beach and EPCOT, but these Cast Members were super nice and chatted with us for a few minutes! We’re super grateful for everything Cast Members are doing right now.
