Strike up the band! The Main Street Philharmonic is once again marching in the Magic Kingdom.
The band is a symbol of the charm of Main Street, U.S.A., though they also perform at Storybook Circus in Fantasyland.
Clad in their iconic red, white, and gold outfits, we spotted the band marching from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
While there isn’t usually a set repertoire, you can hear them playing all-American classics like “Alexander’s Ragtime Band,” “Seventy-Six Trombones,” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”
If you happen to see them, a great place to watch and listen is near the giant flagpole in the middle of the street. You can also get a great head-on picture of them as they march!
(See what I mean?)
The band circles from the east side of the street to the west side, before heading off, usually playing the “Mickey Mouse March.”
It’s good to know that in the face of all these changing times, some traditions continue to march on.
