Ahoy there from the Magic Kingdom! It’s been a while since we’ve taken a good look over at construction on the new dock outside the park entrance, so we thought we were due for a visit!
As seen from above, construction vehicles populate the site as construction sails along. Since we last visited, the barrier separating the two pathways has been covered over, while even more poles extend to the canopy structure.
The dock will likely be serviced by watercraft transporting guests between the Magic Kingdom and nearby resort hotels. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is very visible from the site, suggesting that it could be one of the destinations guests will visit from here.
Passing by, we can see that a second canopy structure has been erected just steps away as guests near the park entrance.
With the amount of guests that travel to and from the Magic Kingdom, hopefully this means people will remain comfortable and shaded while they wait for the next watercraft.
From here, you can see just how close the new dock is to ones already in use.
Nearby, a barrier has been erected near the Ferryboat dock, with a new wall underway for the bus turnaround loop.
