TRON Lightcycle / Run has just reached another major milestone at the Magic Kingdom today, as installation has begun on the massive illuminated canopy that guests will travel through before entering “The Grid”.

If you head on over to the Barnstormer queue, you can get an even better look at the new canopy taking shape:

The canopy piece sits atop a combination of concrete pillars and temporary steel supports. The supports will be taken down after the completion of the canopy project.

For visual reference, here’s what this area will more or less look like once completed, based off of TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland:

TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to be completed in 2021, barring any further delays. The Magic Kingdom guidemap does declare the coaster is “Now Programming” which indicates that Disney is planning on opening it sooner rather than later.
