Construction continues on the structure we reported on two weeks ago at the end of Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it’s since received some considerable improvements.

As to what its purpose is, we are still unsure, but we can confirm it now has a porch and awning, possibly to keep the door area dry during Florida’s notorious afternoon thunderstorms and cool in the summer.

The metal barrier behind the structure is also a new development. It’s unknown if it’s to keep the area from flooding with water or to add dimension and bring the structure into the focal point.
The windows and doors are still completely shuttered, so it’s still up in the air if they will be functioning or just a facade.

Although a scheduled completion day is not yet known, we’re keeping our eyes and ears open. Make sure to check back for updates on this ongoing project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
