While the illuminated canopy is constructed at TRON Lightcycle / Run in the Magic Kingdom, other areas of the coaster are also being worked on. We checked out what you can see of the coaster from inside, and outside, of the park for an overall look at construction progress.

The framework of the canopy is still being put together to the side of the coaster.

The two large cranes we saw last time are still there.

The large canopy piece we first saw a few weeks ago—sitting in the lower center of this picture—has been moved, indicating more work has been done to it.

One crane is being used to lift and place pieces into the canopy framework.

Supports are already in place around the exterior track where the canopy will be installed.

There’s scaffolding near the coaster’s entrance to “The Grid.” This portion of the building also hasn’t been covered in paneling yet.

A new curved piece is visible behind the reddish-brown supports on the bottom right.

From the Contemporary, we can see the backside of the show building, which is currently covered in scaffolding.

The largest crane is visible even from the other side of Space Mountain.

Paneling still needs to be placed on this side of the building. You can see workers near the roof, where the crane has touched down.

Views from the construction site are visible from the street as well.

You can see part of the canopy structure to the left side of the photo above, and Cinderella Castle in the distance.

Obviously, plenty of work remains to be done on this side of the building.

The building has several layers visible from the street, and not all are completely enclosed yet.

The construction site extends far beyond the visible coaster itself.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to be completed in 2021, barring any further delays. The Magic Kingdom guidemap does declare the coaster is “Now Programming” which indicates that Disney is planning on opening it sooner rather than later. You can check out a full POV ride-through of TRON Lightcycle / Run’s sister coaster in Shanghai by viewing our YouTube video below:
