Since we last checked on TRON Lightcycle / Run’s construction, progress has been made on the illuminated canopy that will eventually shade the ride.

Several more pieces have been added to the portion of canopy still on the ground.

The long pieces to the back right of the white structure are new.

As you can see, multiple cranes surround the structure to lift pieces into place.

This is where most workers have been focused at the construction site. You can see several of them working on the structure.

Another curved piece has been added to the far section of elevated canopy.

The reddish brown supports are only temporary while the canopy is installed.

The canopy structure currently on the ground will later be placed a top the supports above the track.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to be completed in 2021, barring any further delays. The Magic Kingdom guidemap does declare the coaster is “Now Programming” which indicates that Disney is planning on opening it sooner rather than later. You can check out a full POV ride-through of Lightcycle / Run’s sister coaster in Shanghai by viewing our YouTube video below:

  1. Given the pace they have on this, I would expect to see it covered by November, the most of the concrete on the ground done by end of Jan and then ideally the train tracks restored by May.

Of course, who knows these days
