Sebastian’s Bistro Restaurant Unlikely to Return at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

It seems there’s trouble in paradise, as Sebastian’s Bistro Restaurant at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort remains shuttered long after the resort’s reopening, and sources indicate that there are no current plans to reopen the table-service restaurant, which specializes in Caribbean fare.

The restaurant’s status remains labeled “Temporary Unavailable” on the Walt Disney World website, with no calendar to check for hours or future availability.

It’s likely some of the more popular menu items from Sebastian’s will move to Banana Cabana, the adjacent bar location, as the reopening progresses and the resort begins to see more guest traffic.

The restaurant had been underperforming since long before the COVID-19 shutdown. Just last year, it ended lunch service at the end of January, with the location only open for dinner in the evening hours. Ads for the restaurant were placed in the lobby of Caribbean Beach to encourage more guests to visit the location.

Sebastian’s Bistro was somewhat of a sleeper hit for us, and one of our favorite restaurants to dine at before the closure, due to how easy it was to get an Advance Dining Reservation there (again, low demand) but also for its delicious Caribbean Pull-Apart Rolls and Jerk Chicken.

Are you sad to see the prolonged closure of Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I am extremely sad they are still closed. I’m sure you have sources, but is there proof they are closing for good or are you just speculating? I don’t think that they have been underperforming. The last 8 months before COVID they were over performing based on year to year comparisons. I hope the crowds come back and they reopen soon. Delicious food and great service.

  2. Only been to Sebastians once but we both found the food and service excellent. A “sleeper” as mentijned.

  3. That’s a shame, first onsite Disney stay planned for November and that was going to be the place for my birthday meal.

  4. So sad. We had lunch early on and dinner was awesome. Now with the Skyliner, it is a perfect park getaway restaurant. So sad.

  5. Never had a chance to try it but I heard good things. Oh well, another magical removal by Disney…

  6. We only ate there once, but definitely planned to return. As a moderate resort, the CBR deserves a sit-down dining location.
