The Magic Kingdom Will Be Decorated for Halloween 2020 Despite Not-So-Scary Party Cancellation

The Magic Kingdom is known for its iconic decorations that can be found throughout the park during the fall months. These decorations typically get added to the park right before Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place. With the cancellation of the party this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were wondering if those classic decorations would end up making their way into the parks, and decided to reach out to Disney and ask!

Using the “chat now” feature on the Walt Disney World website, we entered into a conversation with Cast Member Bradley.

I simply asked Bradley if he knew if the Magic Kingdom would still be decorating despite the party cancellation.

After taking a moment to look it up, it was confirmed that the Magic Kingdom would be rolling out those classic fall decorations throughout the park, though there is currently no date set for when they will be added.

For an added measure, another WDWNT staffer reached out to speak with a different Cast Member and was supplied with the same response.

Are you excited to see these decorations once again in the parks? Let us know in the comments below!

    • we are also going Labor Day Weekend. We have been searching for information and hoping the same thing. We reserved Magic Kingdom for the last day of our trip to increase the odds.

  1. This makes my heart happy. I had been trying to prepare myself for the possibility of no Autumn decorations for a while, now I just need to start hoping they’ll be up by mid-September. Great news though!

  2. Can’t wait to see disney decorated for Halloween. Hope they do halloween goodies and more merchandise

  3. Are you going to have the very merry Christmas party this year? If not are you going to have the Christmas decorations up

  4. Personally it bothers me to see pumpkins in August and September. It’s simply not necessary.

    • You do realize that September is considered Fall, right? It makes perfect sense for Fall decor to begin during that month, and a lot of pumpkin farms actually begin opening in September. As far as Disney goes, they typically choose August to begin decorating because not everyone can arrange their schedules to visit for the Halloween festivities within the month of October…along with the fact that the decor is so elaborate, it wouldn’t make any sense to put in all that effort, to be on display for only 31 days.

  5. Very excited for this news, thank you. We go ever year in the fall for MNSSHP, happy that the decorations will be there when we go this fall.
